Content warning: if you're bothered by descriptions of wounds of any sort, you may wish to avoid this!
MAGIC;
Aside from the curse, Maias has a great deal of potential magic inside him. However, he's unable to tap into it whatsoever, and anyone who can tap into the other's magic can't, either. At least, not at the point I took him from. It's just kind of there, mocking him and you, if you're sensitive to that kinda thing. If you're especially gifted, you're welcome to notice that it's actually blocked! It can be unblocked, but not at this very moment. Stay tuned!
It is the reason why he looks so young, though. Maias is pushing forty, even though he looks like he's in his 20s. It also USED to make it so healed much quicker than an average human, but that's been put on hold because . . .
Maias is CURSED. Or under cursed magic, anyway. Essentially, Maias is between living and undead; as part of the curse, Maias has to basically atone for everything he's done if he ever wishes to become fully alive again. If he doesn't, or goes right back down the path he was going, he'll lose his humanity and become a creature of the undead. It's a great way to make him work to help save his world.
While there's little effect on his magic aside from this, the cursed magic itself gets stronger or weaker depending on . . . well. How good he behaves.
PHYSICAL;
This curse interferes with his personal magic stores, in that he can't heal the way he used to. He heals very slowly - the wounds on his neck, for example, are about three months old, but look as though it's only been a couple of weeks. Any wound he receives in Consignment will act the same way. Have fun, medical!
As for the wounds themselves, he has a slash across his throat, and a puncture wound on the back of his neck, right about where you'd try to sever a spine. The one on the back of his neck is healed more than the other, but the other is why his voice is raspy, since when it happened, his attacker cut pretty damn deep, and his vocal cords are still healing as well.
He also has a scar on his chest, on the left side, that looks like a brand. That never heals or changes. If you are especially gifted magically, there is a tiiiiny tiny bit of magic attached to it. But please contact me first if you're going to point it out!
He also appears . . . well. He's very pale, he has bags under his eyes, and he looks as though he's seriously ill. He doesn't ACT like he is, but appearances do say a lot. This will actually fluctuate while he's in CDC, and I'll try to make a note of it when it's a drastic change. On some days, he may look a lot healthier than he has! On others he will look like he's about to drop dead. He does tire out, though, and very easily. This is his body's physical reaction to the curse, because running around requires energy, and energy is something the undead just don't have.
Feel free to call him undead, a zombie, whatever - he will deny it up and down, but you can't fight facts.
STRICTLY MEDICALLY WISE, save for the wounds, he is perfectly healthy, especially for someone his age, from pre-medieval fantasy land.
